![]() Dedicated carriers (the XLs I believe) can also do this, but they are also really expensive.Ĭost trade-off seems to vary by faction. So if you, for example, destroy all the resource haulers for one of these Xenon sector factions you shouldn't see resource haulers from the other sector factions trying to make the long haul to resupply those bases.Įdit- Also as a general FYI for anyone who didn't know, "Auxillary" ships are dedicated resupply ships. ![]() Basically each Xenon sector at each corner of the map works as their own faction as far as resources, military, and logistics go. IIRC while the Xenon are a faction they are also secretly broken up in to 3 or 4 (I think 3?). The modder did the same as the mod doesn't change things that are working as intended. The Econ/War mod used to curb Xenon aggression, but for one of the patches Egosoft completely removed the limiters for the Xenon. Or at least I've not yet seen any big time Xenon incursions launching from Faulty Logic in to Holy Vision. The HOP, in my experience at least, seem to generally have Faulty Logic under control. Hatikvah's Choice I and Ianamus IV are big time problem spots. Even with the Econ/War mod you'll be doing a lot of the heavy lifting. The Xenon are certainly a threat the player needs to be proactive about. Pro-Tip: Strap into one of those fighters, get close enough to an L to enter its 'gravity' then crawl along the surface ambushing all the components like you're playing a stealth FPS. (Missiles and torpedos might work better, but I haven't tested the resupply to see how much of a headache that is logistically) I'm assuming they're gonna get nerfed hard coming out of Beta. They're also not too shabby against fighters given their high velocity. My attack wings are Eclipse M3s with four such cannons, and make real short work of the Large Pulse Turret batteries on the L broadsides, as well as the Medium Pulse Turret batteries hidden in the prow and stern of both classes. Tip: The Blast Mortars make up for their listed DPS in unmentioned splash damage. Then I think I'll slap on that econ/war mod so I can appreciate the difference. I just ordered a Collosus M1, as soon as I figure out the resupply / fighter repair shenanigans I will see if the proper Xenon stations in their sectors are any better prepared. So in support of that balance point, the Xenon don't seem to know what to do when you throw a wing of heavy fighters at them. Which means the M2s will eventually kill them if you can keep the Ks and Ls away for a few hours. I think they might spawn M6s (P-class)? But those are for sector harrasment if you've got enough firepower to scratch the paint on the station, those are easily brushed aside. ![]() They've got shit for defenses, just a bunch of hitpoints. I haven't seen anything larger than M2s fielded, certainly not the swarm of M3s that would suggest the presence of M1s.īut the Xenon Defense platforms I've seen are are weird. ![]() It may be time to pack up and go be buddies with the Paranid trading and mining is rough with Xenon everywhere and not much money. I have no idea if they even have any military ships? Definitely no big ass M0 in their core sectors like in X3. Thus far I've seen the Argon do pretty much nothing to stop them. They have defense platforms in both of the Hatikvah's Choice sectors, turned one of them red, aaand sent a destroyer with some smaller ships into Argon Prime. Well damn, the Xenon are definitely starting to push into.everywhere, with force now.
